01 Free Upcycle Art Day

9:30 am at 7544 Evergreen Drrn#A128 Goleta 

Give yourself a break from the hustle of the everyday activities and try out this hands-on creative activity for all ages. Don't forget to bring an empty egg carton, cereal box, or can, which you will eventually  turn it into art.

02 18th Annual Open Studio Tour

11 am at Santa Barbara Fine Art Gallery

Opening night reception will be on Friday, Aug. 30, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Santa Barbara Fine Art Gallery. Tour maps and tickets can also be purchased there. The gallery will display selected works from the tour throughout the month of August. You can also purchase tour tickets online at www.santabarbarastudioartists.com. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Sansum Diabetes Research Institute, a leader in diabetes treatment and research. 

03 Bingo Night

8 pm at SB Wine Therapy

Try your luck and win BIG at BINGO Night 8pm at Wine Therapy! These Tuesday sessions will be hosted by the dynamic duo Ashley and Mackenzie. Grab some local beer and wine on Happy Hour everyday from 3-7PM.

04 Blissful Yoga Series

9 am at Rosewood Miramar Beach

Have your body and mind rejuvenated by enjoying a blissful yoga experience located directly on Miramar Beach. Join the highly qualified team of instructors for a balance-restoring Vinyasa Flow yoga session all whilst enjoying the sounds of the Pacific Ocean and taking in the warmth of the sun. A refreshing green juice will be served after class. Yoga mats and bottled water will be provided. 

05 Josh Groban

8 pm at Santa Barbara Bowl 

Santa Barbara Bowl welcomes Josh Groban. Possessing one of the most outstanding and instantly recognizable voices in music,  he is also well known for being a GRAMMY nominated singer, songwriter, and actor. He  has entertained fans across the globe with his multi-platinum albums and DVDs (over 30 million sold worldwide), outstanding live performances, and comedic film and television appearances.

06 First Fridays

4 pm at 36 State Street Santa Barbara 

The finalé of First Fridays is coming up at Hotel Californian. Celebrate the last hurrah of Santa Barbara’s famed Endless Summer with bubbles by Veuve Clicquot. Groove to live music by ASHE. There's no other place to be to kickoff your weekend. 

07 Field to Vase Dinner

5:00 pm at 1105 Union Sugar Ave Lompoc 

Enjoy the experience of a lifetime at the American Grown Field to Vase Dinner, just 50 miles from Santa Barbara at Ocean View Flowers in Lompoc. The Dinner Tour is known as The American Grown Field to Vase Dinner Tour, which is a series of intimate, must-attend gatherings that place seasonal, local and sustainable American Grown Flowers at the center of the table.

08 Sustainable Seafood  Teen Cook Off

12:30 PM at Santa Barbara Maritime Museum

In recognition of the growing interest in sustainable seafood, cooking shows, and competitions, as well as the emphasis on skills-based programs for teens, SBMM has invited two teen chefs to compete in a locally sourced seafood cook-off in front of a live audience. The chefs are 14 and have competed on Top Chef Junior. They both started cooking at a young age and are influenced by their extended families, heritage, and travels. 

9 Seated Wine and Chocolate Pairings

1 pm at Historic El Paseo 

Experience the premium Santa Barbara County Wines paired with delicious chocolates from the local French Chocolatier Jean-Michel of Chocolates Du CaliBressan. Your 60 minute seated experience will take place in the Jamie Slone Wines Private Reserve Room, located in the Historic El Paseo in the Presidio Neighborhood, downtown Santa Barbara. 

10 Private Charter with Captain 

Santa Barbara Sailing Center 

Take a pick of your yacht size and The Santa Barbara Sailing Center will provide you with a US Coast Guard Certified Captain. Experience the fun and magic of sailing along the Santa Barbara pristine coastline for a few hours, or a whole day. Feel free to help sail the yacht. 

11 Earthly Delights

11 am at 10 West Gallery

Explore the wonders of existence, these abstract and conceptual artists will let you see “snapshots” of life on planet Earth — through their eyes. Different genres and media are included: paintings, sculpture, photography and digital compositions. 

12 Playdate: Santa Barbara Zoo

10 am at 651 Paseo Nuevo 

This event is presented by Cottage Children's Medical Center, on select Thursday's each month at Paseo Nuevo. Children of ages up to 8 are invited for a playful time with various activities provided by popular and local kid friendly organizations. To top it all, refreshments provided by California Pizza Kitchen for FREE!

13 5th Annual Legends Gala

6 pm at The Granada Theatre

The 5th Annual Legends Gala will begin on September 13 at the historic Granada Theatre. This signature event is one of Santa Barbara’s most impressive productions. This event features inspiring honorees, extraordinary talent, and dedicated patrons of the arts all in one place to support Santa Barbara’s cultural community. The Legends Gala honor the achievements of persons or organizations who have illuminated and advanced the performing arts in a significant way. 

14 Balloon and Wine Festival

6 pm at Elings Park

The inaugural of Elings Park Balloon & Wine Festival is here. Spend an evening with friends, sunset views, illuminated hot-air balloons (with rides), picturesque oak groves and large-scale light sculpture projections.  All of this while featuring the world-class wineries of California’s Central Coast. This event's proceeds will benefit Santa Barbara’s treasure, Elings Park.

15 Sea Glass and Ocean Arts Festival

10 am at Earl Warren Showgrounds

This event occurs annually on the second weekend in September, and is held at the Earl Warren Showgrounds in the renowned coastal jewel of Santa Barbara, California. There will be a showcase of  handmade, ocean-themed art and genuine sea glass jewelry by dozens of talented artists from across the country. This festival is the only one of its kind in Southern California, and one of three on the west coast.

16 Seaside Bike Tour 

10 am at Santa Barbara Sailing Center 

An enjoyable Santa Barbara bike tour that is designed to show the beauty of coastal Santa Barbara. Ride along on the coastal bluffs amongst Eucalyptus groves, watch the surf, and see quaint neighborhoods and orchards.



17 SBAcoustic

8 pm at 33 East Canon Perdidio Street 

Presented by The Santa Barbara Acoustic Music Association, SBAcoustic is a highly anticipated celebratory series  of live international acoustic music concerts, guitar workshops, and artisanal guitar show at the New Vic Theatre. SBAcoustic will be held at downtown Santa Barbara venues: The Wooden Hall Concerts at the Alhecama Theatre, the Lobero Theatre and SOhO Restaurant & Music Club. 

18 Sipping on the Sea

5 pm at Santa Barbara Sailing Center

Enjoy a Santa Barbara Sunset aboard the Double Dolphin as you sip local wine or beer from a featured winery or brewery. A representative from the winery or brewery will be on board to pour the tastings and will also provide education on their selection. 

19 Writing in the Galleries

5:30 pm at Santa Barbara Museum of Art  

Everyone is encouraged to participate in this informal exploration of the Museum's galleries as an impetus to writing. Each session will be led by a visiting writer/facilitator who will begin with a conversations and prompts, partially inspired by works on view. Everyone is free to write on their own and then reconvene as a group to share and comment on each other's work.

20 Solvang Danish Days

4 pm at 1639 Copenhagen Dr Solvang 

California’s well known premier Danish heritage festival, “Solvang Danish Days”, is back this year. Celebrating their 83rd anniversary with an event line-up set for Friday through Sunday, September 20 through 22, 2019. Solvang Danish Days  will once again provide all the attendees with a unique and total Danish immersion experience while helping to preserve Solvang’s authentic Danish heritage. 

21 Hard Core Cider Tour

1 PM at Elings Park

The Hard Core Cider Tour is now on its  2nd Year! Enjoy UNLIMITED tastings from some of the World's Top Craft Hard Cider makers. Savor some mouth watering food from local food trucks (food sold separately), and dance to live music. Let your inner child come out with their Jumbo Lawn Games, and purchase your favorite bottles to enjoy at home from the Core Store Tent!


22 Art Exhibition

11 am at Mosto Crudo

The well known visual Artist Alphonso Acosta (featured as an "emerging artist" in Society 805 on-line magazine) is exhibiting and selling his artworks created from 2014-2019 at wine bar and restaurant MOSTO CRUDO. Get a glimpse of his works and take a pick of your choice.

23 Clean Stand Up Comedy

8 pm at Carillo Recreation Center

Carrillo Recreation Center presents live comedy which will feature different professional comedians from L.A. and beyond. A unique show that promotes clean stand up comedy (at least for the night). The show is can be watched and is still for adults, but anyone can attend without being offended. 

24 College Night Out

7 pm at 651 Paseo Nuevo

Its a FREE night of fun for College students in Downtown Santa Barbara at Paseo Nuevo Silent Disco. Food, beauty bars, selfie stations, giveaways and so much more to watch out for! Free entrance for everyone who will have a valid college ID. There will be backpacks filled with goodies to be given away to the first 300 students, RSVP on Facebook.

25 Eagle Paragliding

at Elings Park

Your age will never be a factor on flight park or mountain tandems. Kids as young as 12 can fly solo. Flight Park and the Santa Barbara Mountains offers amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and the Channel Islands. Experience a once in a lifetime adventure  from this bird’s eye view. 


26 Flamenco Arts Festival

Time varies at Santa Barbara

A four day celebration, from September 26 – 29, the FAF will feature Cadiz born Eduardo Guerrero in the U.S. Premiere of Faro at the Lobero Theatre, composer and guitarist Andres Vadin, an award presentation to Luisa Triana, and a party to celebrate. The Flamenco Arts Festival (FAF) is a unique international cultural arts event. They aim to present world-class flamenco performances, relevant and impactful educational arts programs. This is an annual event that brings a prominent flamenco company from Spain to Santa Barbara 

27 Royal Gala 2019

5pm at Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort

Have some dinner under the stars, exciting live and silent auctions. Join the inaugural raffle, and lots of dancing to work off your dessert. This year the Royal Gala will be honoring the local sports figures Todd Rogers, Dax Holdren, and Abe Jahadhmy. Todd Rogers and Dax Holdren– had been once former teammates at SMHS–went on to highly successful professional beach volleyball careers.

28 California Brew and BBQ Festival

at 236 E. Cabrillo Blvd, Santa Barbara 

The California Brew & BBQ Festival will happen on Saturday, September 28 at the beautiful oceanfront venue in Santa Barbara. Over 50 breweries, cideries, and wineries provide samples to enjoy. Experience tri-tip from top Santa Barbara restaurants as they compete for the Best BBQ in town! Get a hold of your souvenir glass and start sipping just a frisbee throw away from the sparkling Pacific.

29 2019 Goleta Lemon Festival

10 am at 7050 Phelps Road Goleta

Find some wonderful lemon flavored foods, a fantastic family atmosphere, and variety of entertainment that have made this the most anticipated event in the Goleta Valley. They will also include the Goleta Fall Classic Car and Street Rod Show, and the ever-popular ‘Safety Street.’ Don’t miss out on the pie-eating contests, and arts and crafts vendors. 

30 French Cuisine and Wine Tasting 

6 pm at West Ortega Street, Santa Barbara

Have a taste of the traditional french cooking before booking culinary workshop. Enjoy some  presentation of “Bon Appétit and a catalog while tasting french Cuisine and Wine. For these first meeting, you will even receive a special gift!
