01 Garden Casitas

9 am at Santa Barbara Botanic Garden

Featuring seven playhouses constructed primarily of plant-based materials, this exhibition aims to encourage kids of all ages to play in nature while sharing the importance of plants in everyday life.

02 Mountains To Shore Bike Ride

10 am at 32 E Haley St

Love biking? So do we.  Join this bike ride that is great for all skill levels. Ride your way through some of the area’s most loved locations including the Santa Barbara Mission, enjoy the guided bike tour.


03 Nite Moves

5:00 PM at Shoreline Drive

Spend a family evening on the Santa Barbara shoreline, built around a 5K Fun Run. Swimmers can participate in one of two aquathon distances, 1K or 2000 meters. You can opt to choose between the traditional 1K swim and 3.5 mile run, or test your skills on the 2000 meter Open Ocean Swim. 

04 Fourth of July on Stearns Wharf

12 pm at Stearns Wharf 

Browse through the many attractions while you are waiting for the fireworks show to begin. Try the face painting while enjoying some festive treats including ice cream, sherbet, candy, popcorn, fudge, and cotton candy. Watch the fireworks after dark from one of the best locations in the city with the display shooting off right next to Stearns Wharf.

05 Stress Relief Tone Up with Aveda

4 pm at 651 Paseo Nuevo 

Grab a moment of self-care with Ayurveda Lifestyle Expert Kellen Krugman. Introducing techniques on rejuvenating stress relief treatments & relaxing aromatherapy with essential oils. Don't forget to have a cup of comforting tea. 

06 Annual Kardboard Kayak Race

12:00 pm at Santa Barbara Maritime Museum

The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum will be hosting the 17th annual Kardboard Kayak Race Team Challenge, in conjunction with Semana Nautica. Challenging different families and teams to participate in a battle of wits, creativity, design, and courage. Construct a functioning kayak out of chosen materials. 

07 Goleta Farmers Market

10:00 am at Camino Real Marketplace 

An Association of 130 grower members, owned and operated by the members and its board of directors, committed themselves into providing us the freshest and most nutritious produce our rich local agricultural land has to offer for our families. 

08 Summer Ceramics Camp

9:00 AM at Santa Barbara Museum of Art

Learn the basics of sculptural and functional ceramics including hand building and wheel throwing in a fun and relaxed environment. Students can play with and create simple clay forms. Inspired by the Santa Barbara Museum of Art’s permanent collection and special exhibitions that are currently on view.

9 James Benning: Quilts, Cigarettes & Dirt

Museum of Contemporary Art

The upcoming solo exhibition and US museum debut of independent American filmmaker and artist James Benning: Quilts, Cigarettes & Dirt (Portraits of America), will happen on July 9, 2019. For over 40 years of exploring the film medium, Benning has engaged with history, memory, and documentary traditions, often encompassing a rigorous treatment of the American landscape.

10 Seated Wine and Chocolate Pairings 

1 pm at Historic El Paseo 

Experience the premium Santa Barbara County Wines paired with delicious chocolates from the local French Chocolatier Jean-Michel of Chocolates Du CaliBressan. Your 60 minute seated experience will take place in the Jamie Slone Wines Private Reserve Room that is located at the Historic El Paseo in the Presidio Neighborhood, downtown Santa Barbara.

 


11 Drinks at Dusk

5:30 pm at Old Mission Santa Barbara 

Have a fun night for a cause. Gather with the Franciscan Friars, staff and volunteers of Old Mission Santa Barbara for some wine, beer, appetizers, and live music in the beautiful Sacred Garden. Proceeds of the event will benefit the Mission Preservation Fund for the conservation and preservation of art, artifacts, buildings, and the Historic Cemetery. 

12 North by Northwest

Santa Barbara County Courthouse

Bring your friends and family to come set up a blanket and watch a movie under the stars, in the heart of Downtown Santa Barbara. This year’s theme will be Those Fabulous Fifties. 

13 Margaritas Y Mas Festival

1 pm at Elings Park

Whether its gonna be shaken or neat, the choice is yours. Its the 2nd year of the Margaritas Y Más Festival. Experience  unlimited tastings of Tequila and Mezcal from Mexico’s Top purveyors in a signature cocktail or straight up, while you sip and savor mouth watering food from local food trucks (food sold separately). This event is for age 21+.


14 Santa Barbara French Festival

11 am at West Alamar Ave

One of the most favorite festivals in Santa Barbara. Celebrating the resilient, rich and entertaining French Culture. Its a day full of great food, wine, mimosas, crepes, delicious pastries, music, dance and of course, the infamous Canine Cavalcade.

15 Women in Science 

10 am at MOXI

Women in Science is a creative body of work by Nicole Berry, which uses the practice of portrait photography to expose how social prejudices influence the way we perceive who and what is a scientist in our world. Explore portraits of female scientists in this exhibition and hear the stories and life moments that inspired some of these scientists to pursue their career paths.


16 Seaside Bike Tour 

10 am at Santa Barbara Sailing Center 

An enjoyable Santa Barbara bike tour that is designed to show the beauty of coastal Santa Barbara. Ride along on the coastal bluffs amongst eucalyptus groves, watch the surf, and see quaint neighborhoods and orchards.



17 Disney's Newsies

7:30 pm at 1214 State Street 

Disney’s Newsies is based on the 1992 motion picture, which features a score by eight-time Academy Award® winner Alan Menken and Jack Feldman, and a book by four-time Tony Award® winner Harvey Fierstein. This timely and fresh fictionalized adaptation of Newsies addresses age-old themes of social injustice, exploitative labor practices, and David-versus-Goliath struggles.

18 Sipping on the Sea

6:30 pm at 302 W Cabrillo Blvd

Enjoy a Santa Barbara Sunset aboard the Double Dolphin as you sip local wine or beer from a featured winery or brewery. A representative from the winery or brewery will be on board to pour the tastings and will also provide education on their selection.


19 World-Renowned Jack Canfield on Creating Success and Fulfillment

6:30 pm at The Marjorie Luke Theatre

Spend an extraordinary evening comprised of  community building, inspiration and personal growth with one of the the internationally-renowned and best-selling authors of all time — Jack Canfield, who has sold over half a billion books worldwide. 

20 Beachside Wine Festival

12 pm at  236 E. Cabrillo Blvd

Calling all the wine lovers, the signature wine event is coming back to Santa Barbara. California Wine Festival offering a sun-splashed beachside location for a day of sun, sea, wine, food, and music. Fine wines, regional craft brews and a dizzying variety of foods to sample. 

21 Art Kitchen/Science Studio

2:00 PM at Santa Barbara Museum of Art

Come and join the Art Kitchen/Science Studio where teaching Artists use works of art from the Museum's collection as a starting point to explore the shared materials, methods, and myths associated with art, food, and science. There will be a hands-on demonstration, experimentation, taste testing, and art making, providing the perfect recipe for learning. 

22 Cupcakes & Wine Tour

10 am at 32 E Haley St 

Some of the most loved cupcakes including Pomegranate Mango Chardonnay and Chocolate Blackberry Syrah will be served. Your group will be picked up by an air-conditioned shuttle early in the morning. They will give you the itinerary of the day and head up to Santa Ynez Valley. Once there, you will get to enjoy wine tasting at some of the areas best wineries.


23 The Head and The Heart

7 pm at Santa Barbara Bowl

The very well known American Indie Folk band will be making a stop on their California tour at Santa Barbara Bowl on July 23, 2019. Enjoy the music and sing along with your favorite songs. Don't miss one of the best views of the city from the Bowl, doors open by 7pm.

24 SCAPE Art Show and Sale

Santa Barbara Maritime Museum

Works of over 150 artists and their views of our ocean, coastal vistas, and Santa Barbara’s maritime life will be featured in an exhibit that will benefit Santa Barbara Maritime Museum. The Southern California Artists Painting for the Environment (SCAPE) and the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum (SBMM) made this event possible.

25 Some Like It Hot

26 Annual Woodies at the Beach

9 am at E-bike Santa Barbara

The “Best of the Best” Woodie Wagons come together from all over the western United States on the west lawn of Santa Barbara City College overlooking the blue Pacific Ocean. Savor in the artistry and craftsmanship that made the Woodie legendary.

27 Private Charter with Captain

Santa Barbara Sailing Center

Take a pick of your yacht size and The Santa Barbara Sailing Center will provide you with a US Coast Guard Certified Captain. Experience the fun and magic of sailing along the Santa Barbara pristine coastline for a few hours or a whole day aboard and feel free to help sail the yacht.

28 Taste of Santa Barbara Tour

11 am at State & Victoria Streets

Experience the culinary offerings in an intimate food walking tour of the mid-State Street area of downtown Santa Barbara. Have a closer and personal look into the local food scene. Tour will have stops for tastings at six different shops and restaurants, where you taste and experience the best dishes and best restaurants that make Santa Barbara the great dining destination that it is.

29 Academy Festival Orchestra

7:30 pm at Granada Theatre

100 of the Music Academy of the West fellows comprise this orchestra, these talented young musicians attend the annual Summer Festival on full scholarship. The orchestra’s members are drawn from America’s leading schools and conservatories, to represent the nation’s finest young musicians. The orchestra performs each summer under the baton of such eminent conductors.

30 On The Road Again

11 am at Santa Barbara Museum of Art

Browse through this intimate exhibition  curated by Kendall H. Brown, Professor of Japanese Art History at California State University, Long Beach. It was known that The Tōkaidō, or Eastern Sea Road, was formed in the 17th century to link Japan’s old imperial capital, Kyoto, with the new warrior capital, Edo (modern Tokyo). Come view a rare surviving set of scrolls and wood block art by amazing landscape artists. 

31 Old Spanish Day Fiesta

129 Castillo Street

Join the start of the celebration in Old Spanish Days Fiesta. This event draws large and loyal crowds to Santa Barbara year after year. This is in celebration of Santa Barbara’s heritage and traditions. The fiesta is bursting with music, dancing, time-honored traditions, authentic cuisine, and a lot more.
